Superman Day: DC Brings Back Corner Boxes For ‘Summer Of Superman’

by Olly MacNamee

Good morning everyone. We start today – Superman Day – with the news that DC Comics will be bringing back the corner box to its ‘Summer of Superman’ programme, designed to celebrate the old-school look of comics used over the decades by DC. And they all have a little something in common, itself a reminder of the iconic Superman #233 cover by Neal Adams:

“Dan Mora’s new corner box character art depicts Supergirl breaking metal chains for Supergirl, Superman breaking Kryptonite chains for Superman Unlimited, Superman breaking futuristic dark energy chains for Superman,Superboy breaking metal chain sfor Action Comics, and Krypto breaking his leashfor Krypto: The Last Dog of Krypton.”

The new corner box art, by Superman artist Dan Mora, will appear first on Supergirl #1 (May 14), Superman Unlimited#1 (May 21), Superman #26 (May 28), Action Comics #1087 (June 11) and Krypto: The Last Dog of Krypton #1 (June 18).

Happy #SupermanDay everyone! Why not stick with us as we celebrate Superman across this Good Friday.
