by Tony Thornley

One of the biggest turning point in Marvel Comics history was Giant-Size X-Men, a story that transformed a mid-selling team book into a phenomenon. But what if there were one mutant that refused Xavier’s invitation…?

In May, Marvel kicks off the anniversary celebration of Giant-Size X-Men #1 with a time-spanning story written by Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly and an all-star team of artists. Through the adventure, Kamala Khan will travel through key points in X-Men history to prevent Legion from destroying the past- including House of M and the Age of Apocalypse. The kick-off of the story sees her transported back to the birth of the All-New All-Different X-Men, with art by X-Men legend Adam Kubert.

Each issue of the event will feature a Revelations back-up story that will add new wrinkles to the X-Men’s history. The first one is a doozy as superstars Al Ewing and Sara Pichelli tell the tale of the X-Man that never was. Yes, there was a mutant who declined Xavier’s offer. Who was she and how is she important even today? Well, you’ll have to pick it up to find out.
