Tara Gaming Introduces Ancient India-Era Action Adventure Game ‘The Age Of Bhaarat’

New developer Tara Gaming has announced their first major project, an action-adventure title that’s aiming to be India’s first AAA game, The Age of Bhaarat. Set in ancient India, players take on the role of a Forest Warden, where they’ll protect their home from an invasion of Rakshasa demons.

The masterminds behind The Age of Bhaarat are Noredine Abboud, who previously worked on Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands;actor Amitabh Bachchan; and author Amish Tripathi, who worked on the popular Shiva Trilogy novels.

Currently, the game is in pre-alpha, which is good as the combat doesn’t exactly look the best. It lacks the chunky impact reactions one would expect from an action-heavy, Souls-inspired title like this one. Still, with no stated release date there’s certainly time to turn things around.

Perhaps most interesting about the title aside from its unique setting though is the promise of multiplayer co-op. All too often action games like this lack co-op, or have cumbersome ways of incorporating it like Elden Ring. If they can fix the feel of their combat, a challenging action game that can be played entirely co-op has a ton of potential.

The Age of Bhaarat is scheduled to launch on Steam and Epic Games Store, and promised for unspecified “consoles.”
