Based loosely on the original Philip Francis Nowlan stories, Buck Rogers is a World War 1 veteran who returns home to rural Pennsylvania to work as a mining engineer. He accidentally falls into a pocket of mysterious gas deep in the mine and enters a state of suspended animation.

In Buck Rogers vs. The Cyber Lords, Buck wakes up in the year 2419 to find a world overrun by criminals called the Cyber Lords and a population at their mercy. He quickly runs afoul of some of the Cyber Lords foot soldiers before joining up with a rebel camp at the invitation of Wilma Deering and embarking on a wild adventure 44-page comic that is part of this 56-page soft cover comic book.
This isn’t your grandfather’s comic. It’s a rebellion dressed in retro-futurism, built for a new generation of readers who know the stakes. It’s classic sci-fi with a bold new punch.

“For almost 100 years, the original Buck Rogers stories have been influencing science fiction, to the point that we take for granted tropes that originated in those stories,” said Liska. “Bringing this story to a new generation of fans has been really fun, but so has the excitement of working with so many talented artists to get their interpretations of this iconic character.”

“Adapting Buck Rogers was amazingly fun!” added Field. “The original Nowlan novels had a great core, which I was able to build a great modern action story around. I would love to do more Buck stories in the future.”
Backer rewards kick in at the $8 level, for a digital copy of the book. Print copies show up at the $15 pledge level. Variant covers will cost backers $5 more, unless they opt for the “all variant covers” featured level at $100. The campaign ends on June 25, 2025 at 9:00 AM ET. Check it out at this link.
