Even More Rogue Trooper Coming Your Way In 2025 — Alex De Campi & Neil Edwards Bring You Ghost Patrol

by Richard Bruton

Even more Rogue Trooper for you this September, as Alex De Campi and Neil Edwards bring you Rogue Trooper: Ghost Patrol in 2000 AD Prog 2450….

Well, it’s rather a tentpole year for Rogue Trooper, always one of 2000 AD‘s favourites, what with the film and all. I mean, you do know about the Duncan Jones-helmed film, don’t you? That’s coming later this year, but it’s no surprise that 2000 AD are very keen to feature the big, blue-skinned GI in as many new tales as possible.

Over the past few years we’ve had plenty of new Rogue strips, perhaps most memorably the couple by Garth Ennis and Patrick Goddard. There’s also the ongoing series of short tales, Nu Earth War Tales, taking a fascinating look at the world of Rogue.

But later this year, we have Alex de Campi and Neil Edwards‘s take on the character in Ghost Patrol, debuting in the bumper-length jumping on Prog 2450 on 17 September. It’s being promised as a major new saga for Rogue, ‘diving into the secret history of the G.I. programme which designed Rogue to be the perfect soldier.’ We’re promised ‘massive action and shocking revelations,’ in a series designed for new readers and obviously aiming to get those interested in the film reading more of Rogue’s tales.

This, from writer, de Campi…

‘Rogue Trooper: Ghost Patrol is an epic, action-filled dive into the secret history of the Genetic Infantrymen and the lost soldiers whose skills were used to build them. If you are a Rogue fan of old, don’t worry, there are a ton of riffs on and references to classic Rogue stories… as well as to Duncan’s upcoming Rogue Trooper film.’

And Neil Edwards, whose art has appeared at 2000 AD, Marvel, DC and Titan amongst others, has this to say…

‘Having the opportunity to work on Rogue Trooper is an absolute dream come true! I really enjoy working on future war stories and getting to draw Rogue and all the future tech is fantastic – along with working with Alex, whose script is just super; with tons of action and twists and turns!’

Beginning in September, Ghost Patrol will be part of a jump-on issue of 2000 AD which also features the return of the long-awaited continuation of Ian Edginton and INJ Culbard‘s Brass Sun, and a major new storyline for Judge Dredd from Rob Williams and Henry Flint.

2000 AD Prog 2450 will be published on the 17th September
