ANOTHER JAMIE SMART MEGA-EVENT? – WELL, THE MAN HAS SOLD 2 MILLION BOOKS…
Yep, the news came out this week that the success of Jamie Smart just keeps on keeping on. And rightly so,. If you haven’t succumbed to the world of his wonderful comics yet, it’s about time you, or your kids, did. It was announced he’s sold 2 million books this week. Quite something indeed.
If you fancy – or more likely, if your kids fancy celebrating with him, he’s doing a BIG show at Union Chapel, London in Saturday 11th October, drawing live on stage with suggestions from the audience. Seriously, your kids will love this.

FINALLY – THE LIVE ACTION AKIRA MOVIE IS DEAD…
It’s been long promised/threatened, but we recently had news that the live action remake of Katsuhiro Otomo‘s masterpiece, Akira, meant to be adapted by Taika Waititi, has been labelled officially dead.
It’s been in the works for many years, with multiple directors and writers attached. But, thankfully, it’s now dead in the water, with Warner Brothers relinquishing the rights to it.
Seriously, this is a good thing. There’s only one visionary who could bring the masterpiece to the big screen, and that’s Katsuhiro Otomo himself. And he’s already done it, with the 1988 anime. There’s nothing more needs to be said at all. If you’ve never seen it – rectify that asap.
