Review: ‘The Tin Can Society’ #7 Continues Past The Mystery

Summary
The friend group The Tin Can Society is back together. Yet, mayhem and mystery may divide them again. Can the group hold together amid more hard truths? If they can withstand the mystery can they face the mayhem?
Overall
7/10Writer and co-plotter Peter Warren along with co-plotter Rick Remender provide an explanation in this issue that fulfills the series’ premise. Though readers similar to this reviewer may have to remind themselves what is what and who is who because of release delays. Otherwise one may wonder who is the lead antagonist in this mostly thrilling and suspenseful series. For the most part this issue is exposition that is put together well. However, at least two sentences feel opposite in sequencing to what they should be. Despite the flaws the dialogue and characterization are relatively realistic and believable. Also there is a small amount of action for those who are looking for a little more than talking heads.
Artist Francesco Mobili and colorist Chris Chuckry are responsible for creating both cover A and the interior pages. The use of varying sizes catches the eye and keeps attention on the cover. These varying sizes allow a lot great amount of depth to exist in this singular piece. While the color palette enhances the mental and emotional impact of the imagery one sees on the cover. If there is problem with the cover it is that some could argue that the images crowd out the text to the point where it is overly busy. When it comes to the interior pages there is no doubt that they are high quality. Nevertheless, Mobili could display a little improvement with the laying out of certain pages, along with completing one character’s foot on one of them.
Letterer Jackie Marzan does a great job when it comes to suggesting volume via the sizing of the text elements. However, the choice of being a bit experimental with one bit of lettering may not please those who are strictly adherent to traditional methods.
Cover B by artist Mattia De Iulis is a high quality piece in spite of a rather standard pose. The coloring adds a moody atmosphere that works well with the texture the hues enhance.
