SDCC 2025: ‘Imperial War’ One-shots To Usher In 5 New Ongoing Series From Marvel

One of Marvel’s current cosmic events is Imperial from Jonathan Hickman, Iban Coello, and Federico Vicentini. The four part series finds the various galaxies in the Marvel Universe on the precipice of change after the assassination attempts, some successful, on the prominent leaders.

Part of the narrative involves a group of five Imperial War one-shots that focus on specific individuals and groups that play a key role in Imperial. The titles include Imperial War: She-Hulk, Imperial War: Black Panther, Imperial War: Exiles, Imperial War: Nova Centurion, and Imperial War: Imperial Guardians.

Those five comics will play a role shaping the cosmic side of Marvel. At San Diego Comic-Con 2025, it was announced that each of the one-shots will be spun off into five separate ongoing series. The first is Planet She-Hulk from the creative team of Stephanie Phillips and Aaron Kuder. As Phillips described it, it is “Jen smashing people in Sakaar,” referenced Game of Thrones, and teased witches and cannibal animals. The first issue arrives this November. 

Another ongoing also arriving in November is Nova Centurion with Jed McKay as writer and artist Álvaro López. It involves the new adventures of Rich Rider out in the new cosmos. As a result of events from Imperial, Rider has to activate for the last time the Xandarian Worldmind. It requires large amounts of power to keep running and he must figure out ways to get the resources to power the Worldmind. Hickman compared the series to The Rockford Files in space. 

More details will come at a later date for the spinoff ongoing series for Black Panther, Exiles, and Imperial Guardians. We do know that Black Panther Intergalactic arrives in this December while the other two books will be released in the winter of 2026.
