SDCC 2025: December Will See The End Of ‘Ultimate Spider-Man’ And The Start Of ‘Ultimate Endgame’
by Gary Catig
Ahead of San Diego Comic-Con 2025, Marvel teased a showdown for the fate of the Ultimate Universe would occur this December. The Ultimate line has become very popular with its reimagining of various popular characters. Why would they want to end so soon after introducing the world of Earth-6160?

During the Marvel Comics: Ultimate Universe panel, we learned that Ultimate Spider-Man, from Jonathan Hickman and Marco Checchetto, would be ending this December with issue #24 to much surprise. Hickman said, “This was everything that I pitched. Nothing has deviated. It’s been really really nice to just execute the plan. Execute the plan well. Everything culminates in this issue.”
In the shared image, there was a noticeable blank space in the top lefthand corner. That’s because in that space is a character introduced in Ultimate Spider-Man #19, which comes out this Wednesday. The audience saw who it was, but we don’t want to spoil it.

While one series ends, another series begins. December will also be the start of Ultimate Endgame from Denis Camp and Jonas Scharf. All the characters in the universe will get together for the first time to deal with the Maker’s return.
Camp described the series as “the craziest and most impactful crossover idea since Crisis of Infinite Earths. I’m really excited about it.” He added, “This is a culmination of what we all have been building.”

The mention of “endgame” no doubt will draw comparisons to the Marvel Cinematic Universe film that used the term in the title. As such, the teaser image drew inspiration from the movie poster of Avengers: Endgame.
