‘Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond The Horizon’ Sends Players On An “Unprecedented Mission”

Developer Falcom and publisher NIS America have released a new trailer for their upcoming game, The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon. The latest adventure in the Trails franchise, the trailer focuses on the Trails setting of Zemuria as a whole, as the Republic of Calvard begins to prepare humanity’s first mission to the moon. This history-making event leads characters from Trails games past and present to come together, including Trails Through Daybreak‘s Van Arkride, Trails of Cold Steel’s Rean Schwarzer, and Trails in the Sky‘s Kevin Graham.
Supposedly, Trails is entering its final chapter here, but I believe that like I believe Eiichiro Oda is about to end One Piece soon. This is a franchise built off the developers consistently realizing they need more games than they thought to finish a story arc. With that in mind — plus a series of remakes of the original Trails in the Sky trilogy on the way — it’s unlikely the end of this classic JRPG franchise is close.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon releases January 15th for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG.
