Marvel Comics Reveals More Muppet-Marvel Mash-Ups
by Tony Thornley
They’re one of the greatest IPs in pop culture, and in 2025, the Muppets are celebrating their 70th anniversary. One of those celebrations comes from their corporate sibling, Marvel Comics, as the Muppets step into iconic homage covers.

Across ten new variant covers coming in October, Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie and all your favorites step into the familiar costumes of Marvel’s greatest heroes and villains. While the Marvel Disney mash-ups of the last few years were a little awkward at times (and always on the cover of Amazing Spider-Man for some reason), these embody the spirit of the Muppets perfectly. The felt comic icons always had a streak that was a little subversive, and always stepped into the realm of parody.
There’s also not a single one of these covers that isn’t at least fun. My favorite might be Greg Land’s parody of Wolverine #1, featuring the Swedish Chef. The Chef’s regular human hands have always been one of my favorite subtle gags in Muppet sketches, and seeing Land lovingly render them on a cover is very funny.
Of course, I have to wonder whose hands Land used as reference.
Check out all ten covers and watch for them all through October from Marvel Comics.
