‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Renewed For A Third Season

Daredevil: Born Again is truly the show without fear.
After a tough production during its first season mired in industry strikes and a major creative overhaul, Born Again defied the odds to become one of the more well-regarded Disney+ Marvel shows and the first live action series to ever get a third season renewal. According to Deadline, Disney+ has picked up the show for another year of episodes. While other programs on the platform, like the Percy Jackson adaptation, have made it to three season before, Marvel’s live action shows tended to be built on a miniseries format with only Loki getting a greenlight for a second prior to Born Again. Meanwhile, Jeremy Renner claims a second season of Hawkeye could come together at some point. The animated What If…? had a three-season run baked into its design while X-Men ’97 will also deliver a third set of episodes sometime in the future.
Born Again, meanwhile, follows on from the three season Daredevil series on Netflix. Both star Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer who takes justice into his own hands as the vigilante known as the Daredevil of Hell’s Kitchen. His major opponent: a crime boss named Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) who became mayor in the first season of Born Again.
The second season is set to debut in March of 2026. It is unclear how quickly production will ramp up on the third year or if Born Again will outlast the Netflix Daredevil. Nonetheless, the renewal is noteworthy as it signals a continued sea-change for Marvel as it move toward more a more traditional TV model. Although, it remains to be seen if upcoming programs like Wonder Man and Vision will also see subsequent seasons.
