Park Chan-wook’s ‘No Other Choice’ Should Be On Your Radar
by Tito W. James
Based on the novel by Donald Westlake, No Other Choice follows one man’s increasing desperation after he’s laid off from a company where he has worked tirelessly for many years. After being blown away by The Handmaiden, Park Chan-wook has become a director on my radar.
While there have been some misfires in recent projects, his next film appears to be a return to form and his thriller roots. Western audiences are becoming more open to films from Eastern countries. If it resonates with audience members, No Other Choice could make a splash like Parasite.
