Marvel Comics Debuts A New Era Of ‘Daredevil’ In March From Phillips & Garbett

He’s one of the most storied heroes in the Marvel Universe. He has probably the greatest creative pedigree in comics history. In March 2026, Daredevil begins a bold new era from creators Stephanie Phillips and Lee Garbett.
This new run doesn’t just bring new creators to the Man Without Fear. Matt Murdock will find himself in a new career, this time as a law professor (it has to go better than his last new career as a priest). And just as he settles into this new job, a new supervillain — Omen — emerges with a brutal and mysterious agenda against Matt’s vigilante alter ego.
“I’m taking on one of my favorite characters with one of my favorite artists, and together we’re exploring Daredevil’s noir sensibilities,” Phillips explained. “Lee Garbett brings so much style and emotion to every page, and I couldn’t ask for a better partner to bring this version of Daredevil to life.”
“I couldn’t be more excited to be working with Stephanie Phillips on Daredevil,” Garbett added. “We came into the project together, with a genuine love of the character and a clear vision for the book. Steph is an incredible writer and has absolutely nailed the tone and heart of Daredevil’s world. Every beat feels authentic and DD at its purest — but we’ve got fresh ideas and some big surprises in store!”
On top of the new creative team, the debut issue of the volume will be the second entry into Marvel’s True Believers Blind Bag program. The bagged variant edition of the issue will feature one of a range of variant covers, including some exclusive to the blind bags.
Honestly, I’ve been somewhat cool on Phillips’ Marvel work. Her recent Planet She-Hulk was a big shift for the better though, plus Daredevil seems to bring out the best in any writer. After all, Daredevil was the franchise that made the industry take Chip Zdarsky seriously.
As far as the True Believers announcement … well … Blind bags are hot right now and, honestly, it’s very funny that Marvel’s only blind hero is the second series they’re doing it with. Someone at editorial has to have a big grin on their face right now at how clever they are.
So in short, color me cautiously optimistic.
