Adult Animation Revolution: ‘Gameoverse’ Pilot Episode

Gameoverse is an animated series from Glitch Productions created by Ross O’Donovan and written by Arin Hanson. The series follows catgirl Kit and her robotic backpack, Kaboodle who rescue lost video game characters. In this universe, each planet spoofs a video game genre and when that game’s hero achieves the “Win State,” the planet explodes. To combat this, Kit and her companions try to aid each game world’s villains to prevent the hero from winning the game and ending their world.

This is an interesting subversion of genre conventions that also allows the series to homage any era of gaming they wish. Glitch Productions has been delivering the hottest new indie animated shows and this looks like another winner. Kit is charming and sure to be your new favorite cartoon crush and a cosplay sensation. The reception for Gameoverse has been overwhelmingly positive and I look forward to exploring this world with these characters for a very long time!
