‘My Adventures With Superman’ Season 3 And ‘Earth, Wind & Fire’ Doc Highlight June On HBO Max

Although House of the Dragon returns to HBO Max in June for its third season — with an admirable addition of an ASL version of both the new and previous seasons — a different show making a threepeat return caught out eye. Like our own Tito W. James mentioned a few days, My Adventures With Superman strikes the right notes for our favorite returning show of the month. Year Three promises appearances from the 1990s Superboy and Cyborg Superman and rare rogues gallery picks like Giganta. As Tito put it, “the tone of the series is bright and colorful, the villains aren’t pulling any punches and the lighter tone makes the darker moments hit even harder.” We heartily agree.
Outside of dragons and superheroes, we also noted the coming debut of Earth, Wind & Fire (To Be Celestial Vs. That’s The Weight of The World). HBO’s music documentaries are always well-produced and revealing. This one sees Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson — as writer, producer and director — telling the tale of the legendary Chicagoland band. With the aid of founding member Maurice White, the doc chronicles “their evolution, highs and lows, and relevance from the 1970s into the present day while exploring the deep philosophical and spiritual meaning behind their message and music.” This might be slightly more of a must-watch than even Superman.
