Gen Con 2026: Exclusive Cards And First Looks At ‘Cyberpunk TCG’ Team “Learn To Play” Event

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners has been on almost constant rotation in my office since it dropped on Netflix a handful of years ago. The world of Cyberpunk has always been around the edges of my periphery. I have played in and run many short campaigns at the table over the years. I even tried my hand at Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5 when it launched. I got lost in the text and tech of it all and have not completed many missions outside the first 10 or so hours of gameplay.

I’ve always really liked the landscape and worldbuilding the setting offered. Seeing that the card game is coming to the table soon, I’m super stoked to tell you more about it.

WeirdCo, the independent trading card game studio behind the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game, is aiming for a November release. This comes after completing the most-funded campaign in Kickstarter TCG history with more than $28,000,000 pledged from nearly 51,000 supporters.

The game was previewed at Gen Con 2026 as the company hosted interactive “Learn to Play” demo sessions in Event Hall B at the Indiana Convention Center so fans could get a first-hand look at how this game is going to play out at the table.

In addition to attendees having the chance to be some of the world’s first players of the trading card game, those who participated in the demonstrations received a must-have “Alt-Art Rebecca: Having A Moment Nova Rare” promo card (shown above).

I’m a huge fan of Rebecca from Edgrunners, so this is a heck of a get for any fan’s collection.

Developed by WeirdCo in close collaboration with CD Projekt RED. The Cyberpunk TCG brings the world of the Cyberpunk 2077 video game, the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners animated series, and more to the physical trading card game space in a meaningful way that feels like more than just cool set dressing.

The innovative look, feel, design, and gameplay are created by a dedicated team of veteran TCG players and artists who are committed to using zero Artificial Intelligence, something I know our team here at Comicon.com can really get behind.

As the game plays out, players are tasked with putting together the ultimate edgerunner crew with characters from across the franchise and pitting them against their opponents in a fight to become a Night City legend. What’s really cool is that each card features custom artwork, so it makes it actually worthwhile to play and trade as opposed to just tossing all your cards into a deck box and calling it a day.

This is a big deal. From all signs and speculation, this game is going to be a major contender in the TCG space moving forward. Now is the best time to jump on board and check out what is about to unfold at the table.

I’m eagerly awaiting my chance to build a deck and take a spin at the table and knowing they are already plotting out Organized Play events and convention events makes me even more confident they plan on being around for quite some time.
