Latif Explains His Situation In ‘Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother’ Clip
by Erik Amaya
Now playing in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, and Washington DC, Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother is the film star Mahershala Ali and director Bassam Tariq made instead of Blade. In fact, Ali credits his sword training for that aborted Marvel Studios film as aiding the production of the movie he ultimately made. In it, he plays Latif, a “devoutly religious hitman” attempting to manage work, faith and fatherhood. After the death of his wife, he “embarks on a desperate journey across Houston to protect his children, confronting the forces closing in around him — and the beliefs threatening to unravel within.”
To celebrate the expansion of the film’s theatrical release, Orion Pictures and MGM Amazon have release a clip. In it, Latif attempts to explain his decision on a contract killing to a man played by Giancarlo Esposito. It’s definitely worth a look:
Beyond the behind-the-scenes story and its Marvel connection, we’re very interested in the film. Seeing Ali take his action training into a very different venue than the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a net positive for movie fans. The cast also includes John Cho, Abubakr Ali, Laith Nakli, Tramell Tillman, and Tiffany Boone.
Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother is in select theaters now.
