Unboxing Dungeons & Dragons HeroClix 400 – Adventuring Party #1 from WizKids
by Anton Kromoff
Welcome to the table,
My pals at WizKids sent over a rad box set of Dungeons & Dragons HeroClix 400 minis, featuring the Adventuring Party #1.
Check it out…
One of the most exciting things about the Dungeons & Dragons/HeroClix collaboration is the opportunity to introduce players to a whole new tabletop experience.
If you’re already a HeroClix player, these D&D sets make it easy to start exploring the world of Dungeons & Dragons. They open the door for conversation to make new friends in a space you may not already be playing in. Transversely, if you’re already a D&D player, these HeroClix give you another way to experience your favorite fantasy characters and adventures on The Table in a whole new way.
They serve as a bridge between two games that already have so much in common. That is really cool to see come out of a company like WizKids, who already does some really cool supportive stuff in the HeroClix space. This is just another way they are trying to help the hobby find new players and stay fresh and easy to access.
What’s really rad is that you don’t need to know everything about HeroClix to appreciate the characters, and you don’t need to be a longtime D&D player to understand why assembling a party of different classes, species, and abilities is so much fun.
That’s what makes HeroClix 400 such an interesting entry point. Adventuring Party 1 gives you a complete themed team right out of the box, with four characters designed to work together in a 400-point or 300-point game. So let’s open the box, check out these four adventurers, and talk about why Dungeons & Dragons HeroClix might be one of the coolest ways to bring these two gaming communities together.
Until next time, I really can’t wait to see if they drop more parties. With #1 emblazoned on the box, it feels like something more has to be planned down the line.
