Sean Gordon Murphy Prepares ‘The Lost Bones Of Lake Totem’
by Olly MacNamee
The Last Driver creator, Sean Gordon Murphy, has joined up with artist Corin Howell (Wonder Woman: Black, White, and Gold, Lilith) for a new four-issue horror miniseries from Image Comics, The Lost Bones of Lake Totem. And it has all the trappings and tropes of a classic horror with the allure of ancient Native American burial grounds and lake monsters. Check out the full synopsis below for more:

“Set in the 1990s, Lake Totem follows a young girl named Nib who unearths clues about a legendary lake monster when a forgotten Indian burial ground is discovered beneath an abandoned drive-in movie theater. Now Nib, her best friend Elliot, and her trusty cat Ripley must follow the clues down a dark path of mythological conspiracy — the same path that destroyed the mind of her missing mother. For centuries a monstrous creature has been luring children into the depths of lake totem … and our young hero is about to uncover the truth!”
Murphy said of this new project:
“Lake Totem is one of the most personal stories I’ve ever written. And having my close friend Corin working on the art makes it that much more meaningful. If you like Halloween, horror, and ’90s nostalgia set in a creepy New England town, be sure to pick this up.”
Howell added:
“Lake Totem is definitely a deep dive into my love of creature horror. Getting to work with Sean is a bonus because we’re good friends, so we got to create something that we both enjoy and could connect with. Definitely grab a copy if you’re into creepy ’90s monster stories!”
Lake Totem #1 is out on Wednesday, 6th January, 2027.
