SWAG Adventures: Revealing The Truth In His Dark Materials

HBO has an impressive collection of new television shows premiering this fall. A few weeks back, Watchmen’s first episode aired. On November 4, His Dark Materials hit television screens.
The fantasy adventure series is based off of the literary trilogy of the same name by Philip Pullman. The story follows a young orphan named Lyra, who investigates the disappearance of a friend and learns a series of kidnappings are linked to a mysterious substance called Dust.

This past San Diego Comic Con, our new Editor in Chief, Erik Amaya, covered the show’s panel where the cast and creatives dished on what fans could expect. There was some serious star power on stage of Hall H including Lin-Manuel Miranda, James McAvoy, Ruth Wilson and Dafne Keen.
Those who attended the panel were treated with a couple of giveaways. The first was a poster featuring an alethiometer, a device that reveals the truth. It was the same poster given away at the signing, but alas, this one is autograph-free.

A drawstring backpack was also handed out. It might not have the storage or durability for a trek into the Arctic, but should suffice for occasional use.
