Welcome once more to the Comicon Advent Calendar, our December countdown to the day when the big man in red pops down your chimney…

Today, a great bit of seasonal Batman Adventures from 1995…

Batman Adventures wasn’t just one of the finest bits of animation, it was also the inspiration for some of the very best Batman comics there have ever been. (Seriously, I’ll put Paul Dini and Bruce Timm‘s Mad Love and the Mike Parobeck art on the 1995 Batman Adventures series above Dark Knight Returns, Year One, and Killing Joke.)

And the Batman Adventures Holiday Special from 1995 keeps up that quality in a great wintery set of tales. We’ve already done The Harley and the Ivy back in 2021’s Advent Calendar, now it’s time to enjoy a little ‘White Christmas‘, as written by Dini, drawn by Glen Murakami, with letters by Richard Starkings.

It’s Christmas Eve in Gotham, so of course Victor Fries has made a break from Arkham. The weather report said no snow on Christmas Eve and now it’s snowing. Obvs, Mr Freeze is behind it, but why?

So, off goes Bats to investigate, with a little bit of saving kids on the way…
