‘Man From U.N.C.L.E.’ And ‘The Last Starfighter’ 4K Editions Lead Arrow’s July Releases

Arrow is getting a head start on the summer movie season with a physical media release slate for July including Brit espionage, Greek exploitation, Kiwi paranoia, and deep space sci-fi.
Before they teamed for the new film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, director Guy Ritchie drafted Henry Cavill for the sleek remake of The Man From U.N.C.L.E., co-starring disgraced actor-turned-alleged-cannibal-turned-time-share-salesman Armie Hammer. Available on 4K UHD and Blu-ray, the 2015 film comes with new interviews and featurettes, a reversible sleeve, a fold-out poster, and an illustrated collector’s booklet.
For many ’80s kids, there’s instant nostalgia evoked by the title The Last Starfighter, which stars Lance Guest as a video game ace drawn into intergalactic warfare. Arrow’s new release has been restored from a 4K scan of the original negative and includes a 4.1 mix originally created for the film’s 70mm release in 1984. Extra features are TBD, but Arrow previously released the film on 4K and Blu-ray in the US, so the bonus features for this UK-only release are likely similar. It will be housed with an illustrated collector’s booklet, a fold-out poster, and a reversible sleeve.
July continues with 2023’s Loop Track, arriving on limited edition Blu-ray in the UK only. Written and directed by co-star Tom Sainsbury (Guns Akimbo), the psychological thriller follows a solitary hiker (Sainsbury) trekking through the remote New Zealand bush, where he encounters a mysterious group of hikers led by Nicky (Hayden J Weal). They soon begin to realize that they’re being followed. Or are they? Extras will be announced at a later date. Or will they?
The limited edition Blu-ray set The Nico Mastorakis Collection includes six ’70s and ’80s exploitation films from the Greek B-movie auteur. Selections include The Time Traveller (starring Adrienne Barbeau), Sky High, Terminal Exposure, Glitch!, Ninja Academy, and The Naked Truth. New extras include interviews and original trailers, plus an illustrated collector’s booklet and deluxe packaging.
