SDCC2024: The Best Wolverine Finally Returns To Her Own Series In ‘Laura Kinney: Wolverine’

by Tony Thornley

This December, Marvel Comics launches the next ongoing series of the X-Men From The Ashes initiative. It’s a return for one of the greatest young heroes in the Marvel Universe in Laura Kinney: Wolverine.

The last big reveal from Marvel at San Diego Comic-Con, Laura’s return to her own series will come from Erica Schultz and Giada Belviso. Though she was a major featured X-Man through the entire Krakoa era, the series will be Laura’s first ongoing solo story since 2018.

The series will see Laura dive deep into the darkest corner of the Marvel Universe, where no one else dares follow. When she finds young mutants forced to use their powers against their will, she’s determined to stop whoever is behind it. The world may soon learn to fear the name Wolverine, but her actions may also be about to make her a target.

“We want to show you all different sides of Laura. There will be laughing and crying,” teased Schultz. “Laura has dealt with a lot, and when she’s met her other clones, she’s asked herself ‘Is that the person I’m supposed to be? Am I fated to be that person? Should I take my own path, or end up like Logan?’ She decides to forge her own path. This will be her solo adventure.”
