Review: ‘The Sensational She-Hulk’ #10 Comes To An End

Summary
This issue is the current end of Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk’s solo adventures. Where does it end? Will Jonathan Hart/Jack Of Hearts and She-Hulk stay together? Finally will there be cake?
Overall
5/10Writer Rainbow Rowell creates what is debatably merely okay dialogue. This is to how Rowell creates a script that is mostly talking heads and omniscient narration. There is also no real focus on any scene in this issue. Meaning that Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk and the narrator keep expounding while everything keeps She-Hulk towards the end of the issue. On the plus side, Rowell’s explanations of the characters via the narrative text boxes are rather inventive.
The regular cover is by artist Andrés Genolet and colorist Edgar Delgado. Genolet does a nice job positioning the characters around each other. Also the line work displays confidence and skill. While the colors help evoke a sense of awesomeness to the cover despite the lack of a proper background. Still the overall design is generic.
There are two variant covers. One is by artist Mirka Andolfo and the other is by artist Joshua Cassara and colorist Dean White. The designs of both covers are rather standard. However, She-Hulk versus a legion of Xenomorphs is still a novel concept. Also how She-Hulk looks on both covers is subjective in terms of appeal to buyers. What is not subjective is not as subjective is how high quality the covers respective color palettes are.
The interior visuals are by Genolet and colorist Dee Cunniffe. One good aspect of Genolet’s art is that the minimalistic elements make sense and look good. Also the characters have believable proportions. Unfortunately, Genolet does create some weird panel and page compositions. As for the color palette Cunniffe does a pretty great job with most of the hues. Although Cunniffe goes a little too light on certain skin pigmentations. Overall they both do a relatively good job with some noticeable flaws.
Letterer Joe Caramagna has a clear screw-up with the order of words in a sentence. While this may also be partially Rowell’s fault it is definitely the fault of assistant editor Kaeden McGahey and editor Nick Lowe.
