AJ Mendez and Aimee Garcia popped by the virtual panel room to discuss their upcoming comic Day of the Dead Girl from Magma Comix. It’s full of brujas, the supernatural, candles, and criminal investigation. The pair discuss their love of comics and how their previous books have led to the new series. The “Yes, and …” technique is involved. Mendez also talks about her book, Crazy is My Superpower, and opening up to put it together. Garcia expounds on the place of horror and superstition in Mexican culture … and the universal element within it. The pair also praise artist Belén Culebras and tease the possibility for more Dead Girl stories.
