Hasbro’s ‘Women Innovators Of Play Challenge’ Looks To Find The Next Big Thing In Toys And Games

by Gary Catig

Hasbro brings us collectibles from G.I. Joe, Star Wars, Transformers, and many other popular franchises. Now, the toy company is giving aspiring creators an opportunity to submit their own ideas with the hope that it might be developed into a product.

The Hasbro Women Innovators of Play Challenge is now in its second year. It allows women to submit their own ideas for future toys or games. A panel of judges will select winners who earn a $10,000 cash prize, mentorship, and a trip to Hasbro Headquarters in Pawtucket, Rhode Island for a “Day at Hasbro.” Awards will be given based off of a number of factors including innovation, mass marketability, fun factor, and more.

Challenge submissions are now open until November 11th, 2024. You can click here to enter or receive more details regarding eligibility requirements. You must be 18+ and hail from select countries.

The challenge is part of a greater Hasbro strategy known as the Women Innovators of Play Initiative, which elevates more women involvement within the toy and game industry. Currently, women account for 70% of all toy purchases, but only compose 29% of C-Suite roles.
