‘Tis the season for taking cool stuff, stuffing it in a sock or cocooning it in brightly colored bits of paper then covering it in ribbons and bows like some kind of cottage core spider. While it may be easy to decide how best to enshroud your offering, picking the perfect gift for those gamers in your life is not always easy. For that, I am here to offer advice in the form of the 2024 Gift Guide For Gamers!
This one is a favorite. It combines two of my favorite things, Dungeons & Dragons themed objects, and food. I present to you the double delightful Heroes’ Feast: The Deck of Many Morsels!
These epic, large format cards come from the team who brought you the Heroes’ Feast cookbooks, the second of which, Heroes’ Feast: Flavors of the Multiverse, made the 2023 Gift Guide for Gamers last year.
Each card has a really rad photo on the front of beautifully styled dish from the extensive selection of recipes. These include the Underdark Forage Board, Halfling Tea Sandwiches, Exploding Cheese Puffs, Butternut Beer, and Figs Cakes.
For those of you who purchased the Heroes’ Feast books for yourself or someone you love, this is still an amazing gift. There are 10 exclusive recipes and tons of new photographs. The cards are also great for more novice culinary adventurers. They are coated to protect against spills and stains. I would not go submerging one in cake batter or trying to snuff out a burning marshmallow with one of these cards, but playing with them they do feel very kitchen or camp site friendly.
I really like the way the cards are set up. They have everything you need on the card itself, so you can grab one and go.
