Adult Animation Revolution: ‘Junk World’ Expands Stop-Motion Animation in Japan

Junk World is a post-apocalyptic stop-motion animated film written and directed by Takahide Hori. The story takes place in the same world as Hori’s previous film, Junk Head, and explores the subterranean conflict between humans and artificial lifeforms called Mulligans. Junk World marks a bold step in Japanese independent stop-motion animated feature films. I hope that the stop-motion samurai film Hidari, also finds similar success and support.
