WizKids Takes Us To The Table With Treats From ‘Critical Role’

Welcome to the table,

We are currently in a golden age of table top role-playing. While I have been in the TTRPG hobby for as long as I have had conscious memory, the last decade or so has been a truly amazing time to watch the hobby grow and evolve as it spread from the backrooms of comic shops and cramped tables of first apartments to multi-million dollar revenue producing streaming shows, animated series, and the shelves of the largest retailers in the world.

This is due in no small part to Critical Role as it served as singular point to showcase the camaraderie and fun that people can have rolling dice and telling stories with friends around the table. What began in 2012 as a bunch of goofy friends playing TTRPG in each other’s living rooms has evolved into a multi-platformed cultural sensation. These friends, who happen to be renown voice actors, have grown into pillars in the TTRPG community and have had their stories turned into everything from candy to comics to collectable keychains.

My pals at WizKids have put together a collection of delicious looking doodads to adorn your dice bags, key ring, or any other object you want to clip a keychain to … and they are themed after foods found in the various campaigns of Critical Role.

They come in these deliciously adorable blind-bags and I had a chance to open a few of them to celebrate the final episodes of CR Campaign 3.

The set includes Cherry Pie, Tusktooth Cookie, Scanlan’s Hand Pie, Maple Ginger Cookie, Jester’s Lollipop, Hello Bees Honey, the legendary Blueberry Cupcake, Caduceus’s Teapot, Pocket Bacon, Fresh Cut Grass’s Baking Sheet, and a Strongjaw Ale Tankard.

These things are super vibrant and the sculpts are amazing. They come inside little plastic clamshells that are contained within the randomly assorted blind-bags. They are made of really durable plastic, making it an easy lift to actually use them in your day to day rather than leave them on the shelf or in a drawer.

I’ve always been a fan of the WizKids miniatures, and they have had some incredible offerings in the Critical Role space, so it has been rad to see how they approached and executed the creation of these iconic food items in all their show-stopping glory.
