2025 will be a big year for Superman. He is set to star in his own film this summer, which will formally begin the DC Universe. The character will also receive a big push on the comics side. At this year’s WonderCon, DC Comics hosted a panel with moderator and Editor-in-Chief Marie Javins and writers Dan Slott and Mark Waid.
Slott will write Superman Unlimited, which follows the Man of Steel in the present day. Scott teases that his run is “setting up change in Superman’s life and how the Daily Planet works in the entire DC Universe.” Fans can receive a preview of the story from Slott and artist Rafael Albuquerque in the DC All In 2025 FCBD Special Edition #1, which contains a 10-page prelude.
Slott also teased two new characters that will appear in the comic series. The first is Imani Edge, who can be seen in the below preview art. She is Morgan Edge’s ex-wife, who gains control over his entire media empire. The second, Tee-Nah, will have her first appearance in Superman Unlimited #2. She is the new head of IT at the Planet. She might look a little out of place since she is from Gorilla City and is the goddaughter of King Solovar. Superman Unlimited #1 will be available beginning May 21st, 2025.

Waid will focus on a younger Clark Kent when he begins his run on Action Comics with issue #1087. The writer wanted to tell the story of Superman learning from ground zero on how to be a superhero. Without spoiling too much, the arc will include the Legion of Superheroes.
As Waid described it, the Legion are “Clark’s first friends that have super abilities like he does. I think it’s an important moment in Clark’s history. The question is: Which Legion? What version? We are honing it down to a group we are confident that everyone will embrace regardless of when you came into your Legion fandom.”
The rest of the creative team for Action Comics #1087 include Skylar Patridge, Ivan Plascencia, and b. It releases June 11th, 2025.
