by Tony Thornley

It’s hard to believe that it’s been thirty years since we met Woody, Buzz and the gang in Toy Story. Marvel Comics is getting in on the celebration with their corporate sibling with 3 new variant covers homaging famous Marvel covers with the gang.

In November, Marvel will release three new covers featuring Toy Story’s iconic characters. Drawn by longtime Disney comic book artist Marco Forcelloni and illustrator Nicky Nicotera, the artwork homages iconic Marvel Comics covers with the beloved heroes from the groundbreaking animated film.

From Marvel’s press release: It’s playtime as Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Hamm and the rest of Andy’s toys take over legendary moments in Marvel history! Woody rounds up the gang just like Captain America assembled Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Avengers #4. Then, it’s Woody’s great responsibility to make sure no toy gets left behind as the lovable cowboy sheriff recreates Spider-Man’s first appearance in Amazing Fantasy #15. Finally, Buzz Lightyear soars to infinity and beyond, following in the footsteps of superspy Nick Fury’s classic cosmic adventure in Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. #6. Capturing the heroic spirit of the Toy Story franchise, these first-of-their kind illustrations are sure to be a hit with comic book fans and Disney collectors alike!

Check out all three covers and watch for your favorites in stores in November from Marvel Comics.
