The Manhattan Clan is getting ready for the season.
Dynamite announced Thursday the imminent arrival of Gargoyles Winter Special 2025. Writers Greg Weisman and Nate Cosby, along with artist George Kambadais, deliver a tale centered on Elisa Maza. December is not her favorite month. The snow and festivities bring her little joy, but at least Goliath can fly her high above the city to escape the decorations and carols. One reason the holidays bring her down: a wintertime crime early in her career that remains unsolved. While sharing this with Goliath, Broadway overhears some of the details and takes it upon himself — thanks to his constant diet of cop shows — to give the cold case another pair of eyes. But will Bronx and a returning Lance the bull terrier be enough backup for his first attempt at the detective game? And will what they uncover have implications for both Elisa and the rest of the clan?
“Having Broadway put the trench coat and fedora back on to solve a mystery is going to be a ton of fun,” Weisman said in a statement. “Throw in Bronx and Lance, and the emotional heft that Elisa brings to this unsolved case from her past is just icing on the cake!”
Crosby added, “I had an itch to do a holiday mystery, and I’m so glad that Greg reminded me that Broadway loves detective shows (as seen in the classic Gargoyles episode, “Silver Falcon”). We’re embracing the pulpy nature of classic crime stories, full of seedy suspects, switcheroos, and a jaw-dropping reveal that nobody (especially Broadway) will see coming!”
Covers from Kambadais, Jae Lee, Roger Langridge, and Alessandro Ranaldi will support the special issue.
Gargoyles Winter Special 2025 is scheduled for a December release.
