Monsters, Spiders, Iron Man & Doom: Rounding Up Marvel Comics’ NYCC 2025 News (Part Three)

Another year of New York Comic Con has come and gone. It’s a big year for announcements, and with it all over it’s time our last look at Marvel Comics’ biggest announcements from the convention.

Wrapping up the Marvel round-up are a few more announcements — including crossovers, exciting new volumes, and event aftermath.

First of all, we already talked about early announcements from the con- Godzilla: Infinity Roar and Spider-Man/Venom: Death Spiral. Both events will hit early 2026.

Iron Man returns in a new volume in January, this time led by DC Comics architect Joshua Williamson’s return to Marvel alongside superstar artist Carmen Carnero. The new volume will see Stark facing down Advanced Ideas Mechanics led by Madame Masque in a race to find (and weaponize) the next Tony Stark.

Williamson has grown a ton as a writer in the last five years, and this is a great fit for him. I also love putting Iron Man against AIM, as the science and futurist core of both (with drastically different ethics) makes for a great conflict.

“I am a huge Iron Man fan. A massive Iron Man fan…and I knew it was time. I absolutely had to do this,” shared Williamson. “Part of our tagline for this book is that Tony Stark is the most dangerous weapon in the Marvel Universe. When he went into the cave, Tony built the armor…but after I thought about it more, the armor wasn’t what he built in the cave. Tony built Tony.”

Then, it appears that One World Under Doom is going to resonate for a long time after the limited event series wraps up later this year. Dungeons of Doom will see the Hulk writers Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Benjamin Percy team with artists Carlos Magno, Robert Gill, Jason Mason and Georges Jeanty in a three issue limited series. A group of characters from across the Marvel Universe will dive deep into Castle Doom, and they may not like what they find.

“Ben Percy is a kindred spirit, and we both love horror books,” shared Johnson. “Without spoiling the events that lead up to this series, there’s going to be a big conflict in Latveria, and all these factions end up in a place they didn’t ever know that was there. It gives us a set up for a horror anthology in the Marvel Universe, where we’ll see various factions of the Marvel Universe opening these doors and finding these horrors that Doom has been keeping hidden.”
