The partnership between Dynamite and Warner Bros. makes its way to Kickstarter.
The company announced Monday that its Blind Bag program will be the core of a new crowdfunding campaign. The bags will feature the comics made via the Dynamite/Warner Bros. Discover Consumer Products alliance — that includes ThunderCats, Space Ghost, The Powerpuff Girls, Captain Planet, The Herculoids, and more. Per Dynamite, each will include “five total contents within. First and foremost for fans, every bag contains one of eight brand-new variant covers made just for this campaign. Illustrated by fan-favorite artist Ken Haeser.”
The bags are also “complemented by one metal or holofoil variant cover being produced specifically for this.” There will also be a “buy-back” issue stamped and signed by Dynamite CEO and Publisher Nick Barrucci, while “some of the hardest to find back issues will be randomly inserted.” Additionally, one blank sketch cover is also included and, finally, the bags will also contain a “super rare ashcan edition for Supernatural #1, featuring preview process artwork for the new adventures of the Winchesters by Greg Pak and Eder Messias.”

Each bag is priced at $100, but we imagine blind bag collectors are willing to invest that some in the hopes of pulling a very rare and collectible cover. Some of the artists whose work will be feature on the covers include Alex Ross, Mark Spears, Francesco Mattina, David Nakayama, Jae Lee, Michael Cho, Rob Liefeld, Declan Shalvey, Mike Mignola, Joshua Middleton, Ivan Tao, Lucio Parrillo, Derrick Chew, Manix Abrera, James Stokoe, Bjorn Barends, Felipe Massafera, Joseph Michael Linsner, Christian Ward, Paulina Ganucheau, Ben OIiver, Nicoletta Baldari, and Leonardo Romero. That list is pretty impressive and it may compel more collectors to take a look at the campaign.
Other pricing tiers include sketch commissions, hardcover collections, and more. There’s even a few options for the dedicated high-end collector.
If this sounds good to you, head over to Dynamite’s Kickstarter page and back the project. The campaign ends on November 14th.
