Trailer Watch — ‘Sekiro: No Defeat’ Looks Amazing

Japan’s Warring States (Sengoku) period has served as the backdrop for countless legends that inspired everything from samurai films, to video games, and of course, anime. Sekiro: No Defeat is an original animated series inspired by the characters and world of Fromsoftware’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The anime follows a ninja named Sekiro who acts as protector of a boy known as the Divine Heir. The pair attempt to restore balance to a nation divided by war and corruption.
The animation style is gorgeous and adds a handcrafted aesthetic to the project. As someone who’s only vaguely familiar with the video game, I was intrigued by the trailer and will be excited to explore these characters and world.
