Trailer Watch: Anime Studio Science Saru Brings Their Signature Style To ‘Ghost In The Shell’

Science Saru has cemented itself as one of the coolest anime studios producing work today. They have given us excellent anime series including Devilman Crybaby, Dan Da Dan, Sanda, and Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. Now, Science Saru has turned their attention to adapting Masamune Shirow’s highly influential Ghost in the Shell manga. The original tale is, of course, a seminal story for the cyberpunk genre. While its legacy speaks for itself, the 1995 film and its many anime incarnation never spoke to me, personally. However, that may change because Science Saru’s take on Ghost in the Shell looks like a reboot that’s friendly to new viewers while also returning the series to its hand drawn roots.
