‘Devilman: Crybaby’ Coming To Blu-ray

The Netflix Original Anime, Devilman: Crybaby will release on Blu-ray from Anime Limited and Shout! Studios. The Devilman: Crybaby Deluxe Edition includes a 156-page art book featuring artwork from Science Saru and director Masaaki Yuasa.

Devilman: Crybaby is easily my favorite anime. Watching the series in 2018 was a highlight of my time as an anime fan and as a contributor to Comicon. Devilman Crybaby introduced a new generation to Go Nagai and Masaaski Yuasa. If you loved Devilman: Crybaby, I would also highly recommend Yuasa’s criminally underrated Kemonozume series.
From its expressionistic animation to its graphic content, killer soundtrack, and edge-of-your-seat story, Devilman Crybaby is unlike any other. The anime explores heavy issues — drug use, police brutality, hate crimes, classism, homosexuality, xenophobia, war, and genocide. It will always be a welcome shock to the system and its themes still resonate today. The ten episodes tell a complete and emotionally harrowing story with imagery that will stay with viewers for years to come.
The Devilman: Crybaby Deluxe Edition releases on December 9th.
