Bangarang! Steven Spielberg’s ‘Hook’ Swinging To 4K UHD In November

Steven Spielberg‘s Hook is heading to 4K UHD just in time for the holidays. Long before the term “legacy sequel” was in the lexicon, this 1991 film brought aged-up fairy tale characters into a contemporary setting, in which an adult Peter Pan (Robin Williams) has to acknowledge his forgotten past and return to Neverland in order to save his children from the clutches (clutch?) of Captain Hook (Dustin Hoffman).
While Hook was initially met with a mixed reception, it has seemingly grown in stature, with many viewers putting it up there with the likes of more universally acclaimed Spielberg films like Jaws, E.T., and Jurassic Park. It also stars Julia Roberts, Bob Hoskins, Maggie Smith, Dante Basco, Charlie Korsmo, and more.
Hook has been restored in 4K from the original camera negative, and features some promising new special features including an hour-long documentary called Hook Never, Never Ending, presented in full 4K resolution. Hook sails home on November 17th.
