NYCC 2026: Marvel Television Announces New Spy Thriller ‘Zodiac’ And More

by Gary Catig

The first Marvel panel at New York Comic Con this year involved their television and animation projects. While it might not have the grandeur of a Hall H at SDCC, there was plenty of news to be excited for.

The first big announcement is a new series called Zodiac. It is a spy thriller that begins shooting this spring. It will be released in 2028 on Disney+, and casting starts in the next couple of weeks. Pay close attention to the logo because there is a lot hidden if you are a comics fan.

Marvel Zombies will return for three additional two-part special events. They will be appropriately released on Halloween with an annual schedule. In 2027, Marvel Zombies: Winter Soldier arrives covering Bucky and where he’s been during the adventure from last year. 2028 brings Marvel Zombies: Fist of Khonshu. It all culminates in 2029 with Marvel Zombies: The Last Guardian. Head of Marvel Television, Animation, and Comics Brad Winderbaum described it as “a gory, blood splattery, but also quite beautiful show that I cannot believe Disney+ lets us make.”

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 will arrive January 13th, 2027. Showrunner Jeff Trammell shared that Otto Octavius is back, along with Scorpion and some new fun surprises. In order to battle all these threats, Peter will need to level up and might need some help. “Sometimes that help comes in the form of an inky black goo from space,” the producer teased.

After a near reunion of the Defenders actors on stage (unfortunately Mike Colter could not attend), to hype up the third and final season of Daredevil: Born Again, the cast and showrunner of VisionQuest came up on stage. The panel ended with an advance screening of the first episode, and man, is James Spader excellent. Why couldn’t we get this version of Ultron in the second Avengers film?
