Outland Entertainment Obtains ‘Tales From The Magician’s Skull’ Magazine, Launches Kickstarter

by Brendan M. Allen

Outland Entertainment recently acquired Tales From The Magician’s Skull from Goodman Games. Goodman set the bar high when it comes to production value and content, and Outland’s goal is to meet and exceed the precedent set by Goodman with future installments of the printed collection of sword-swinging action, dark sorceries, dread, and ferocious monsters.

With the conclusion of issue #12, Outland Entertainment has completely taken over publishing and production of the magazine moving forward. Publishing physical media takes capital, and Outland has reached into the crowdfunding space to ensure they are able to meet the demands of printing and distribution of a top tier TTRPG magazine. As of this writing, they are within a few thousand dollars of meeting their funding goal, with only a couple days left to meet that goal.

The Kickstarter campaign launches issue #13 and beyond, as well as subscriptions for future issues.

Future issues include stories from (Comicon’s own) Anton Kromoff, Cullen Bunn, S.D. Alisea, Stephen Wilson, K.E. Kendall, Mario Carić, William Hartley, Andrew Kozma, JD Jordan, Jake Allen (no relation), Chris Yarbrough, and many other prominent creators in the TTRPG space.

Moving forward, the plan is to publish Tales From The Magician’s Skull semiannually, with issues being released in April and September. Issue #13 is a hair’s breadth from completion, with a January 2025 target for release.

Backer rewards are pretty straightforward for this one. There are subscriptions to the magazine in 1-2 year duration, T-Shirts, stickers, and various other geeky TTRPG swag, and back issues. Check out the campaign at this link
