Arcanaut Studios And Lucasfilm Games Announce ‘Star Wars: Fate Of The Old Republic’
by Sage Ashford
Looks like it’s time to return to the Old Republic. At least, that’s what Lucasfilm Games and new developer Arcanaut Studioshave planned with their upcoming game, Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic. Headed up by Mass Effect creator and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic director Casey Hudson, Fate of the Old Republic is described as a single-player action role-player game where players will control a Force user at the end of the Old Republic.
In an interview with StarWars.com, Fate of the Old Republic is specifically said not to be a direct sequel or continuation of Knights of the Old Republic, but “being built by people who shaped that legacy”.
Still, fans shouldn’t get too far ahead of themselves, as this game is still fairly early in development. Arcanaut Studios itself didn’t exist until earlier this year, with Casey Hudson previously working at Humanoid Origin with NetEase until that studio was shut down near the end of 2024. For now, there’s no release date and it’s only confirmed to be coming to “consoles and PC”.
