AnimEigo Announces Home Media Release Of ‘Alien Nine’ OVA

When aliens invade it’s up to a trio of schoolgirls to save the day in this anime OVA.
Anime distributor AnimEigo and parent company MediaOCD have announced the upcoming home media Blu-ray release of Alien Nine on June 9th, 2026.
Centered on elementary school girls battling aliens, this is based on a manga series written and illustrated by Hitoshi Tomizawa originally serialized in Akita Shoten‘s manga magazine, Young Champion. Set in the not-too-distant future, alien invasion is a daily occurrence. Someone must save the planet, so Yuri and her 6th grade classmates are elected for this important assignment. Can a trio of cute schoolgirls defeat terrifying creatures from outer space?
Sixth Grade Sucks. Especially When You Have to Fight Aliens
Yuri is totally bummed. She just started 6th grade and has been elected to capture and eliminate the aliens that are constantly invading the school … maybe this job wouldn’t be too bad, except it includes wearing gross symbiotic alien helmets that survive by eating the waste material produced from its host body. Yuck! Yuri may be scared of her new position, but she isn’t alone. To help her is the energetic Kasumi and the serious Kumi who both volunteered for their positions in this strange alien party. But why would the school send 6th graders to fight the alien menace? And will their Borgs be enough to help them win?!
Written by Sadayuki Murai and directed by Yasuhiro Irie, Alien Nine’s uniquely gleeful approach to horror and action captivated fans and critics alike. The OVA was notably produced by Taro Maki, whose prolific career included seminal titles such as Tokyo Godfathers and Millennium Actress.
